Visit Niagara Square

A public square that forms itself at the confluence of Delaware Avenue, Niagara, Genesee, and Court Streets, this spot could be considered by many where the rest of the city springs forth. The highlight is a commemorative memorial in the middle of the square dedicated to American President William McKinley, who was assassinated in 1901. When you think of Niagara Falls, you may think of going over the waterfalls in a barrel. But do you know what it takes to do so and live to tell the tale? Since 1901 (and probably even earlier), 16 people have gone over the falls--the most recent in 2012. 11 have survived.
